At the DIY Skateboard workshop you get to choose the shapes to assemble a customized skateboards!

Kah Mun of 家 jiā (made by Jia) will offer drop in class, Painting with Natural Dye on Silk Bandanas, throughout the day!

家 jiā, a space created to appreciate the beauty of natural dyes. All colored fabrics are naturally dyed with plants, Insects, kitchen wastes using only natural fibers. No harsh chemicals are used throughout the dyeing process making it safe for both the skin and environment. 

​In this workshop, you will gain knowledge by fixing natural colors with the direct application method onto cloth using only natural dyes. Participants will leave with their beautifully hand painted silk bandana and handouts to recreate this technique at home.

NYC artist and designer Ricky Wolfe from OnTheSly.nyc, will share sustainable practices with natural beeswax applications.

 

Bring your favorite piece of clothing, handbag, or accessory that is made of natural fibers, and together he will show you how to create a natural water repellent barrier with beeswax.
